When are we all gonna collectively start talking about fresh-faced Muriel having to deal with Hell’s new representative on Earth (with no Arrangement to shield them as their predecessors had) and potentially pulling the benefit of a reluctantly protective Crowley? Are we ready for that conversation or…?
Oh we are so ready for this conversation.
When you think about it, even before the Arrangement Aziraphale and Crowley did have a history (as we learned in the first episode), so it was always unlikely for them to be violent against each other. Sure, the first 2000 years they did have suspicions of each other, and hey, you can’t really blame Aziraphale if he didn’t like having his back to Crowley but they didn’t really hate each other. Even when they weren’t close they were veeery good at tolerating each other.
But as we learned this season from Shax, the new demon probably will be very violent. Think about how Shax did not even hesitate sending a human flying in Soho. Muriel, oh my soft little sweatheart, who doesn’t even know the word “city” yet, will die a horrible death if a grumpy “not a bookseller even at gun point” demon doesn’t stay around. What a shame really. Now Aziraphale knows exactly where to find him.
